An image that, in my eyes, literally defines its genre. In this case, I am referring to futanari, a theme that continues to rise in popularity. To see a drawing that transcends any one single emotion so as to wholly define its genre is a rare treat and the sign of absolute artistic brilliance...

This image is beautiful on so many levels and is easily my favorite depiction of futanari to date.
Now, I am fully aware that this drawing was not initially conceived to be futanari-themed... The original drawing was of gorgeous honors student Tsukada Miki from the eroge Kanojo Tachi No Kinki. However, a very imaginative and brilliant fan professionally edited on a well-conceived and realistically proportioned penis and shifted her panties down accordingly, thereby setting a completely different tone for the image. (In retrospect, the original phallic-free drawing seems oddly unbalanced with its mostly-empty upper half). In addition, the evening sunlight shining through the window further serves to specifically highlight her erection as this drawing's clear focal point. In my mind, this edit is a stand-alone work of art worthy of an analysis independent from the original eroge source.The beauty of this wondrous image is that it sparks the imagination into pondering the back-story behind this girl's enchanting situation... Unable to hide the fact that she is turned on (a common problem when mixing skirts and futanari), the girl slouches down in her chair and holds her skirt up with one hand, allowing her penis to stand free and vertically erect. Her other hand covers her otherwise exposed left nipple and her eyes are vacantly, almost wistfully, transfixed on the source of her arousal. Appearing to be in a calm state and lost in her own little world, it seems unlikely anyone else would be in the room, and a lack of any ejaculate or wetness indicates she is in a pre-masturbatory state. This is a deciding "calm before the storm" situation in which her body has built up enough sexual tension to solicit sexual release, yet she has not yet acted on it.
Unlike many other futanari-themed drawings which directly showcase the act or results of ejaculation, this image simply implies the possibility of such an event. The girl appears to be torn between acting on her carnal physical desires, a predominantly masculine trait, and remaining true to her more refined feminine identity. Although her holding of her left breast would indicate that she may be just about to act upon her building tension by reaching down with her left hand to caress her aching penis, she could just as well be preparing to lower her skirt, get up, and walk away. It's this pending decision that makes the drawing so wonderfully captivating as it captures the essence of a futanari's hardship in trying to manage dual sexuality. Kudos to both the original artist and the fan who edited it.

I would like to point out that from the slight frown on her face and the positioning of her wrists, she seems a little apprehensive. Also, her legs are not spread apart, but rather close together, so yes, I agree with your stand on that this is a calm before the storm situation, where our heroine is teetering on the threshold of a decision, uncertain of the next move.

Just the fact that she is not even holding her member, simply staring at it, indicates she hasn't submitted to her physical desires just yet. What struck me first was her eyes [well not first but you know what i mean ^-^] which i thought had an annoyed glare focused on her member. Which brought up the idea that she was born as a futa. Then i began to believe that she was somehow trying to relive a cursed but lustful memory. ex:
1. dressed in a rather innocent child-like party dress with pink ribbons and the works.
2. in an empty room which might suggest that shes moving

I STILL find this piece of art so unbelievably mentally stimulating. I especially like the back-and-forth interplay between Miki's eyes and her penis... It's as if the viewer is seeing through HER eyes as well.
